Description

Offered here are three DuBarry Face Powder boxes from the late 1920's and
1930's period. The small box is the two ounce size. The other two are the four
ounce size.

"DuBarry" was originally a fragrance created by Richard Hudnut in the very
early 1900's. He used this fragrance in his more expensive face powders and
facial cosmetics.

The late 1920's is when we see this particularly designed powder box
advertised. I believe the four ounce box, shown in the middle, is from this
period. I believe the other two came later. All three are in extremely good
condition, considering their age.

The four ounce box in the middle, and individually shown in pics 5, 6 and 7,
held the Rachel No. 2 shade, uses the all white DuBarry bust. And except for
the bottom of the box, is entirely covered with cloth.

The other two boxes have the same red cloth side all around the box, but the
top of both boxes is the more recognized paper (maybe it is a card paper)
label, and DuBarry bust.

The other four ounce box, pics 2, 3 and 4, held the Honey Biege shade. The
small two ounce box, pics 8, 9 and 10, held the Rose Biege shade.
